WHAT ARE GREEN POINTS?

Green  Points is a reward program unique to The Green Climate Club and is used by Members to help offset their individual carbon footprints and to save money on many other items, such as fuel and groceries.  

When a Member redeems some of their Green Points for Carbon Credits  which they then in turn use towards offset their individual carbon Footprint, they are assisting in reducing Global Warming. This may seem like an insignificant effort by one individual, but the combined effort generated through our huge membership umbrella all taking the same action, means it becomes a significant step towards reducing the world's Greenhouse gases.

Our Green Points reward program works similar to the Frequent Flyer points schemes operated by the airlines, stores and credit cards, but has some very significant differences. The first is it allows our members to offset their greenhouse gas generation without without any direct cost to their pocket because they earn their Green Points for free. 

Secondly its easy to calculate the redemption value of Green Points, as each Green  point  upon redemption has the same purchasing power as one real cent of the currency of the country in which you live.  To assess the worth of the Green Points you have saved, and what they can buy simply divide by 100 to get a dollar value. For example let's assume you have accumulated 4,000 Green Points.  Their redemption value would be equal to $40.00 (4000/100). 4,000 Green Points would buy you about 1.3 tonnes of Carbon Credits, which would make  a tidy dent in your carbon footprint.

Green  points are easier to accumulate because you can earn them from so many different sources doing the things you do every day;  they are more flexible, as they can be used in conjunction with real money, which means you can apply the Green Points Points you have accumulated at any time you wish, simply by making up the difference using cash if you don't have enough points at the time; and besides being redeemable to buy carbon credits, they can also be put towards the purchase of any type of travel, fuel or shopping vouchers or almost anything else you wish to buy. 

The Green  Points program has one other big plus, it's the only Reward Points program in the world, that pays interest on the unused reward points remaining in your Green points bank.

So as a Green Climate Club Member the cost of climate isn't going to affect your hip pocket if you use your Green Points.
